The DEMON 170, for example, requires a 170 Proof (85% alcohol) fuel to reach its full performance potential—but this isn’t something you can simply pick up at your local gas station. Many enthusiasts mistakenly believe that the E85 at the pump is the solution, but E85 is actually a “flexible” blend that can range from 85% to 55% ethanol, meaning anything under E84 won’t deliver the performance required by the Demon or Demon 170.
